Prick test

Test to seek immediate hypersensitivity to ALLERGEN.
To do this, simply prick the skin of the forearm with a special needle through a drop of allergen solution.
The introduction of the allergen in the skin quickly causes DREGANULATION OF MAST that release various chemical mediators including histamine, which causes a skin induration and a red halo.
Reading this test must be done 20 to 30 minutes after injection.

The main allergens that are looking hypersensitivity are pollens, house dust, mold, animal dander, hymenoptera venom, latex, sometimes food allergens such as peanuts (very common food allergy in the child).
