The National Institute for Prevention and Health Education (INPE), the Interministerial Mission for the Fight against Drugs and Drug Addiction (Mildt) and the Ministry of Health presented a communication campaign highlighting the role of parents and environment in the prevention of drug use among adolescents.
Keep children away from drugs
"This campaign aims to bring parents and others to reflect on the role they can play in the prevention of drug use among their children as well as the actions to be implemented. It s 'is to reinforce their ability to intervene and offer their support by showing them where to find help, "said Secretary of State for Health, Nora Berra, during a press conference to Paris.
Entitled "Against Drugs, everyone can act," the campaign includes three television films and press inserts. The brochure "Cannabis, risks explained to the parents' present will also be available at approximately 100,000 copies in youth structures or who come into contact with these professionals.
The TV spots are designed to encourage parents to share and interact with adolescents on the topic of drugs. They all refer to the site-info-www.drogues service.fr and online drug info service (0800 23 13 13).
One of them depicts the mother of a young girl who uses cannabis, isolates himself more and fails his exams. The voiceover explains that the woman concerned may respond by asking for help drug information service.
"The portraits presented in three spots can be addressed at all and show how situations of drug use can be multiple and there is no ready-made solutions to solve them," said the Director General of INPE, Thanh Luong.
Third component of the 2008-11 Plan
This campaign is the third and final part of the government's communication plan to fight against drugs and drug addiction 2008-11.
The first, entitled "Drugs: do not close your eyes", released in September 2009, recalled the dangers of their use. The second (November 2009), "the drug if it is illegal, it is not by chance," returned to the legal framework for drug and alcohol sales to minors.
President Mildt Etienne Apaire said during a press conference in five parents admitted not to mention the consumption of drugs or alcohol with their children. "We must return to the parents to make prevention actors," he said, adding that "many do not know what to say to their child" and had to "encourage and support" for dialogue.

The number of experimental drugs in France is estimated at 4 million.
