Women and Lung Cancer
,
It is women and young adults are
most affected by the occurrence of lung cancer currently.
It seems that women who smoke are
more susceptible to the occurrence of lung cancer than male smokers.
Smoking induces overexpression of
the enzyme CYP1 B1,
Enzyme that has great importance in
the Metabolism (see this term) estrogen.
This allows the question of whether
estrogen plays a role in the promotion of lung cancer, as they play in ovarian
cancer and breast cancer.
It seems quite likely.
In the United States, female
mortality from lung cancer now exceeds the mortality from breast cancer.
In France, the forecasts are
pessimistic about the number of female cancers that declare in the coming
years, but for now they are still young men 35 to 45 years who pay the heaviest
price.
HOWEVER ACTUELLEEMNT LUNG CANCER IS
THE THIRD CAUSE OF DEATH AMONG WOMEN IN FRANCE.
BE CHARGED AN INCREASE OF 5.6% PER
YEAR IN IT.
THE AGE 40-59 YEARS SHE CHARGED AN
INCREASE OF 9.6% PER YEAR.
- It is TOBACCO (qv) course that is
responsible for this mortality.
- The age of the beginning of the
poisoning is more important than the number of cigarettes smoked per day risk
factor.
- So early smoking is a risk factor
that should not be overlooked. In France, 25% of 14-15 year olds are regular
smokers, which augurs a significant increase in lung cancer in 20 years.
And what is very disturbing is that
girls, and very young girls in particular, smoke more than boys.
