cocaine overdose

Acute poisoning occurs after the intravenous injection of cocaine, but also after inhalation or ingestion (in this case, after deliberate ingestion during the arrest of the dealer).

TREATMENT
Treatment is symptomatic, because there is no antidote.
The treatment will be anticonvulsant (diazepam, thiopental).
Tracheal intubation with mechanical ventilation will be implemented in case of ventilatory failure.
Injection of beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers in electrocardiographic monitoring attempt to limit cardiovascular disorders.
Hospitalization in intensive care is required.

You should know that the concomitant use of alcohol may cause dangerous hypoglycemia (fall of blood sugar levels).
