The stomach is an organ of the digestive tract shaped pocket located between the esophagus and duodenum.
Food, chewed in the mouth and swallowed pass through the esophagus before reaching the stomach. This ensures both mechanical digestion (mixing) and chemical (gastric secretion composed of water, hydrochloric acid and enzymes) of these foods.
