Cirrhosis of liver failure

Liver failure is characterized by the inability of the liver to perform its essential roles in the body.
The liver failure resulting in the appearance of:
Cirrhosis portal hypertension
Portal hypertension is caused by increased pressure in the portal vein. liver fibrosis caused by.
The portal vein is a blood circulation between the liver with venous circulation upstream. Fibrosis formed in cirrhosis causes compression and crushing of the vessels of the liver (hepatic veins). This phenomenon is the cause of blockage of blood flow thereby developing increasing pressure in the portal vein.
Portal hypertension in turn leads to venous dilatation of collateral circulation and venous circulations upstream. These abnormalities occur by:
Effusions with fluid outside the bloodstream, secondary to pressure differences:
- A is the presence of ascitic fluid in the peritoneal cavity,
- Oedema of the feet and legs that are characteristic: they are white edema, soft and leave an imprint of the finger when pressed,
- Pleural effusion (fluid in the cavity between the lungs and chest cavity) may also appear ...
Abdominal veins (collateral circulation) expand and are visible under the skin in the abdomen.

Gastrointestinal bleeding is secondary to rupture of esophageal varices (dilated and inflamed esophageal veins).
