Tropical Travel useful tips


If you go in hot countries, the following tips are helpful:
VACCINATIONS
- It is essential to get to a tetanus booster,
- As well as a polio booster.
- The vaccine against yellow fever is required for entry in many tropical countries (your travel agent will tell you these countries). You should know that vaccination is practiced only in some hospitals.
- A typhoid vaccine is needed now: TYPHIN VI (one injection only and protects for 3 years).
- The vaccine against hepatitis B is recommended. 3 injections one month apart and a reminder the following year.
- Meningococcal vaccine mandatory for pilgrims to Mecca in 1987.
- For the adventurous travelers to tropical countries, the vaccination is required (see RABIES VACCINATION).
- The vaccine against hepatitis A (1 single injection, booster six months later) is highly desirable.
MALARIA
Prophylaxis is required during the entire stay and a few weeks after returning home. WIRED
