Diseases related to stomach

Some diseases can indeed simulate stomach pain, interpreted as stomach pain by patients.Maladies and stomach pains
Crohn's disease, colitis affects the intestines and colon. These conditions evolve through crises manifested by stomach pains with diarrhea, weight loss and fatigue.

The calculation of the gallbladder can cause pain in the epigastric region actually corresponding to radiation of pain from the right upper quadrant.

Signs of acute appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is variable. It is sometimes manifested by pain in the abdomen, misinterpreted by patients.

- The pain is accompanied by gastrointestinal bleeding (vomiting of blood, black stools), bleeding, loss of appetite and weight loss,
- The pain occurs repeatedly and is accompanied by copious diarrhea,
- The patient had a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcers.

In these cases, further investigations will be useful to define the cause of the pain.

The additional examination
The supplementary examination is upper gastrointestinal endoscopy or gastroscopy, allowing the physician:

- To visualize abnormalities of the digestive tract in order to optimize the appropriate treatment,
- Eliminate the differential diagnosis of stomach ailments.
