Launch an egg nutritional qualities of old

An egg meets the nutritional qualities of the egg backyard of old and eligible for various nutrition and health through diet modification chickens, has been the ray Glon food group, said the latter to the press.
Presented as an egg rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins D and E and lutein, egg "BENEFIC", born of a unique concept developed by the food group, is "what will become standard "in nutritional quality of the egg, said Dr. Jean-Marie Bourre, member of the Academy of Medicine and Director of the Research Unit Neuro-pharmaco-nutrition Inserm.

Referring to SUVIMAX study (large epidemiological study of French intervention that lasted 8 years between 1994 and 2003, which included approximately 13,000 people from 35 to 60 years presumed healthy), nutritionist reminded nutritional deficiencies revealed by this investigation, citing among other deficiencies in omega-3, vitamin D, vitamin E, iron, iodine, folic acid and certain carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin.

However, the egg comes second (after the tripe before and seafood) food can cover a significant portion of these deficits, said Dr. Bourre.

Basing its strategy on the concept of "better fed for better food for people," Glon has developed a "pack BENEFIC" composed of nutritional ingredients for laying hens, incorporated in the diet of these birds throughout their lives.

This egg is "naturally rich" and not "enriched" by various elements, thanks to the power given to animals, said Alain Glon, co-chairman of the food group.

The Scientific Committee of this group, this new egg "contributes much more to the recommended dietary allowances (as defined by the French Agency for Food Safety, ed) that the French standard egg."

It thus provides 2.5 times more iodine and covers 100% of the RDA in this nutrient, 6 times more vitamin E (2/3 of the RDA), four times more folic acid (70% of ANC) and restores especially omega-6/omega-3 ratio with a high intake of omega-3.

But omega-3 are interesting in the context cardiovascular and brain development Vitamin D ensures calcium uptake in the intestine and is involved in its attachment to the bone, iodine is essential for brain development: acid Folic involved in the formation of the neural tube in the fetus; Lutein protects the retina and prevented blindness.

The egg "BENEFIC" can therefore claim more nutrition ("rich in vitamin D," "rich in vitamin E" ...) and two health claims ("rebalancing involved in omega-3 fatty acids", " helps protect the retina and lens of oxidation ")
