What are the foods that make you fat and those who lose weight?
,
Manon Brodeo, Dietitian-Nutritionist
There is no fattening foods and foods that make you lose weight. As such, any food brings a certain amount of energy. Some foods have a higher energy density than others: for example, the tomato has a much lower density than chocolate. But we can not say that the tomato diet and make that chocolate makes you fat. What makes you fat or lose weight, it is the fact or not to respect his hunger and satiation. One could quite gain weight eating only fruits and vegetables if you go beyond hungry. And we can also lose with food so-called "magnifying" (like chocolate, sugary foods) if you eat very little about the day. This does not necessarily cover our needs. It may well lose weight by eating a plate of chocolate and a half a day. For most people, it is too low energy intake relative to their needs.
What makes you lose weight?
It is the overall energy intake on the day that makes you lose weight and does not consume a particular food. As such, a balanced diet does not lose weight but it is important for health to have an adequate intake of macro-and micro-nutrients. For example, a 1500 kcal balanced diet menu is the most individuals. If we keep the same level, but we multiply all portions by two, we get to 3000 kilocalories. The menu is balanced and yet energy intake is too large for the needs of the individual.
